Myyyyyyy GORILLA!!!

Greetings, MY GORILLA 2400 watt Class D amplifier has a bad transistor upon INITIAL exam. Transistor on the way tomorrow SO... check things out. It APPEARS I am not the FIRST to repair this near SPOTLESS amplifier. It is so shiny it dont even have any DUST on it. SUPER CLEAN. I examined the board and its obvious there is a REPLACEMENT transistor in there. WELL its on the SAME side as the DAMAGED transistor so I am ASSuming these transistors are not holding hands and merry... I will attempt a replacement of the bad transistor and hope for no other bad aspects BUT.... worried this thing will self destruct yet again upon HARD USE. Only way to tell is... HARD USE so thats in the horizon IF I can get this thing to operate again. Myyyyyyy GORILLA!!!!

I bought it USED/DEAD for 10 bucks as a LEARNING EXPERIENCE.... I BET its a WARRANTY item that was REPAIRED but it was not long before it blew up again so a new amp was provided the owner and this one...... went in the PILE... Appears to be such, like brand new. I will get the transistor in the mail tomorrow and I will check in with the progress.... Hope for the best, plan for SMOKE...

Why all the YELLING ????????!!!!!!!!!????????!!!!!!!!!...............

Another CAR AUDIO post............ that belongs.............. in the CAR AUDIO section.............................,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,....................,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,.....................

OK.... IT WORKS.... Replaced the POWER TRANSISTOR that was defective. It ran for four hours at LOW volume... ONLY thing I notice is the DRIVER BOARD seems to be quite HOT. UNEVEN heating even..... Some transistors there appear hotter than the others. BUT it ran four hours at "idle". I wonder if thats a "normal" thing BUT this "new" amp has been repaired more than once now and I am THINKING theres something "wrong", perhaps in the driver board areas. MIGHT be the actual "problem"... BUT ran for four hours straight. My FIRST FORAY into Class D amps here and I am a novice at best in regards to repairing these. ANYBODY with some experience with these SPL amps?

its a GORILLA 2400 watt... any positive input is much appreciated Thank You. BDBD/2022
