My VPI Based DIY Turntable

Hello folks, this is my first time posting in the Analogue forum but I thought you may wish to see my latest TT project.

I built this turntable using a VPI TNT black acrylic platter with inverted bearing and teflon thrust pad. The plinth is made up of two sheets of mdf sandwiched by three 12 gauge steel sheets and then topped with 1/4" black acrylic. The plinth is edged with bloodwood because I did not like the Scoutmaster look. I have made my own separate matching freestanding motor housing using the motor from a VPI SAMA.
The arm shown in the picture is a JMW10 that I used for the photo but the actual arm that I am now using is the JMW-9.

I have installed a Clearaudio Maestro Wood cartridge going into a Graham Slee ERA V Gold phone pre. It has turned out to be a fine combination!

Thanks!
