If you put your hand in front of the Supertweeter, then take it off, you can actually hear a difference in sound.
Hi,
The stands (and the rest) looks good Robcrx.
IIRC, the super tweeter is crossed in at 12kHz.

I remember servicing this kind of speakers (long ago). Sometimes there were sparks protruding from the super tweeters, scary stuff.
Open circuit just at the film connection and reactive discharge from the tweeter transformer made sparks possible.

So a step up transformer for the high impedance tweeters.
Nice looking stands and nice looking system overall. Takes me back to the 70s.
Put some Credance on and crank it up!

Yes.
Rob, I'm late to the party, but, those are BEAUTIFUL stands! I'm tempted to make one just to sit out and admire as art work! (Did you use 2x8/4 on the left stand, and 2x6/4+4/4 on the right stand?)
Tom.

The one thing which dramatically improved the Acoustic Research AR3a's was a set of stands. (The other thing which improved AR3a's was not putting potted plants on them!)

I had a shop make them for me. They are exact dimensions of the Speaker cabinets
