My very first build.

Hello guys, i'm in the process of building my first and new pair of 3 way speakers, i'm planning on do it on the holidays to keep my mind buisy and entertained.
The speakers will be pluged into my topping d90 and purifi eval1 amplifier, the frontend or the digital transporter is an odroid n2 with coreelecOS.
For the measurements i have a motu m2 and a calibrated behringer ecm8000
I already have a pair of bliesma T34B-4 gathering some dust on the shelve, (since last year) and pair of augerpro 6.5' circular waveguides are already being printed.
That said i'll most probably will go for the PTT6.5M08-NFA-01 and cross it at 2.1/2.2.
My main doubt is on the woofer, since i can't be to greedy on the cabinet size, i was more inclined to an 8inch driver but i can go for a 9.5 like the WO24P-8, and cross it at 400/500.
In your opinion is there a better driver on the 8-9.5' range better than the WOP24P to pair with this combo?

If you look at the SD of the WO24p it is not much bigger than some 8” but is one of the better drivers at this size and can be used up to 1k if needed (as in Jeff Bagby’s Helios) but is happier crossing at 500-700hz. The other benefit of the WO24p is that with a box around 35-40l you can go sealed (Q=0.7), vented (Troels Gravesen SBA941) or passive radiator (Bagby Helios).

There is also new new Purify 8” driver if you want to wait.

Sounds like a fun project.

@Ugg10, thanks for the reply, indeed, the paper 8' purifi is coming but it will probably be at the same price of the alu 8' wich will be like 750€, per unit, wich is just too much for me, i'm already stretching to go with the purifi midrange instead of the satori paper 6' MR.
Like you said , the wo24p its almost the size of an 8' (i had that in consideration) and measures really good i think will fit very nice on this build!
the idea is to go with a sealed box!.
Will give some updates with measurements soon (i hope).

To achieve maximum performance, your baffle design must be well thought out. The spacing and positioning of the drivers, relative to each other and relative to the baffle edges, is a critical aspect of performance. Most of the experienced designers on this website will use simulation software to help in this process.

Since this is your first build, and you are using expensive drivers, I recommend that you build a prototype cabinet first. You can use expanded polystyrene foam, which is sometimes called Foamular or XPS foam board. It is very easy to work with, and inexpensive.

You have an interesting project, with a lot of potential. I like the concept of T-34B and PTT6.5M08, and I think the satori Wo24P is a good match. Best of luck !

Sorry for the late reply, i'm aware of that hifijimm, i'm already taking measurements with dats with the wo24p wich arrived this week to start making some simulations.
i was planning to use mdf for a cabinet/prototype measurements, will have a look at that foam, thanks for the tip!
the concept is pretty dead now, the PTT6.5M08 is at 430€ each, i really should had bought it last month.
I probably will have to go with the satori MR16P-8 or the MW16TX-8 for the midrange....

edit: i will post all the measurements.
