My Tang Bander - CT209 almost!

Hello from cold Finland (-25 Celsius outisde at the moment)

I have finished my newest main speakers "head" parts. Bass stands will be also integrated under these pots.
Driver is Tang Band W3-871 (not S) and cabinet (flower pot) volume is 3,6 liters.
Notch filter is not included yet, but maybe later so then I can compare results with and without Notch filter.

They look good. I hope these turn out well for you. One word of caution though. I made myself a pair of ceramic enclosures for my fostex 108s, and I could never get them to sound quite right. I finnally had them measured, and there was a -15dB dip around 1kHz due to internal reflections. I've gotten distracted by other projects now, but I would certainly like to try out different shapes of ceramic enclosures in the future. They are certainly very inert, however if they get too round then where ever the frequency's 1/2 wavelength equals the interior diameter of the pot there will be a cancelation of that frequency. Just something to think about/watch out for. I hope you find this to be helpfull, and not just me raining on your parade. They do look very nice, and I wish you the best of luck.

I attached (side view) picture where different wavelengths are drawn with different colors in bullet shaped box and normal rectangle box. Only vertical internal diameters. Ofcourse bullet is round shaped and "standing waves" will affect on small part (eg. red). But in rectangle box, one wavelength will fit on whole part.

Timn8ter - Sometime ago I send email to you about your line array Tang Band speaker (four drivers) but you haven't answer (or my mailbox was full so I was not able to receive mails). I'm planing also linearray speakers (five similar Tang Band drivers) but I'm not sure how I have to design lowpass filter for four drivers (one driver will be fullrange).
 
I remember your e-mail but a I think there was a problem when I attempted a reply. I've shyed away from line arrays at this time. IMHO, line arrays have their place but I prefer the imaging and vertical dispersion of single point or virtual single point sources for music listening. If you go ahead with a full range driver line array project take a close look at how Jim Griffin has used power tapering and places a tweeter in the line.
 
Yes, baffle is Seetri (in Finnish) wood. I don't know or not even translator does not know what is english word for that. Anyway, I guess it is Cedar.

I haven't included filter yet but I will add it later. I made quick tests and Notch will reduce "tense" from sound. I may change resistor value to lower one.

Unfortunately, Crescendo is in brown box at the moment waiting for new chassis.
