My subwoofer is also a rat trap.
Let me explain....a couple of months ago, somehow a mouse found its way into my small house. It began eating it's way into my shelved dry goods in the kitchen, and I could hear it chewing late at night. I saw it once or twice. It was small.
I bought like 20 mouse traps......no luck in catching it.
Then today, I could hear it chewing again.....but from where ???
Yes, it had found a home inside my subwoofer (floor bass speaker). Some subwoofers have an open vent-port for the acoustics.
So I stuffed the vented port with a sock.
Ha !! .....I finally got him trapped !!
I took the speaker apart outside (next to a field)...and flushed him out into the field.
He had grown into a RAT !!...because it was a rat 😱

Hey redrabbit,
nice story and a worlds first for using a subwoofer as a mouse trap!
I notice you have the "three legs" flag next to your name......a Manxman by any chance?
Cheers

....no....I happen to like the Isle of Man's flag.
I borrowed it for aesthetic sake.
(It also reminds me of a TT motorbiker tumbling....but I'm sure such a coincidence could not have been foreseen.)
