Nor is it alowed in Denmark.

If one want's a earth/ground wire, one has to get it done properly by a certified electrician.
If you do it by yourself, and authorities discover it, then you have done something illegal, and will be treated acordingly.
Some thoughts about the subject.
In DK we have something called an HPFI Relay, which is an wery fine measuring tool for safte purpuses. The Danish law say's that every home has to be protected by one.
It makes sure that just as much current thats running in to the house, matches the exact amount that runs back to the powerplant. If for some reason, say you put your fingers in the outlet, or have some faulty equipment, it makes sure to switch the power off, for your safety. The tollerance is, as far as i know, 30mA. This security device (HPFI), needs an ground as well to make the correct measurement.
So if you already have a ground wire for your safety HPFI, washing machine stowe (made correct by authorized personel). And you then make another one for further items, and this ground is not made properly, then you have got a potential leathal situation, and a very big chance of getting electricuted whithout the HPFI cutting the current.
So in my oppinion, if you must make one yourself, you have to be damn sure it's an very good ground.
Or get an certified electrician to make one whitout tax 😉
PS: In Denmark it will cost you about 1000-1500$ for an official and legal ground/earth.

poor conductor
sorry could not reply any sooner
i like it when people say that water is a pure conductor..
it is all in the way you say it or want to hear it
in houses where no pvc tubing is used, i will certainly hookup ground to the watertubing, copper or lead .... no matter what is being testified here,
ground with a 30 ft copper bar sounds good but i will go with the water first
