Looks like a dog or cat. The front surround looks like it's come away from the cone in places too.

Thats why dogs and cats always keep out of children.
That looks familiar. I have had three Alpairs damaged by grandchildren, and at the time was not very happy about it. They are a magnet for young children, and no matterr how many times you tell them don't touch, they still do.
...looks familiar to me too. Had guests over on Sat night and one of their children pushed in the metal dustcap on a special enabled/decorated fostex 105En. I guess I need to learn to "prepare" the house for friends' children....
Grills.

oops, daydreaming again
Grills.
Forgot to put them on as my daughter didn't quite attracted to my loudspeaker.
What a pity.

Thanks a lot.
No worries, it's EnAbLeD now! Just ask her to do the other one! 🙂
And Chris, I'm with you on the day dream. Ali Larter, especially. She was the best (only) reason to watch Heroes.

What makes you think that touching the cone is limited to children? I know a lot of audiophiles that think they MUST tap on exposed driver cones. They don't know why. I guess is like the lemmings running over the cliff.

Or maybe it's just that audiophiles never grew up. 🙂
My daughter did the same thing with two drivers - I had just brought the first set in the house and before I could get the second one it, she dented the dustcap on the midbass and destroyed the tweeter...
Or maybe it's just that audiophiles never grew up. 🙂
that's food for at least a week's worth of jokes ... while I never considered myself a true audiophile, yur damned right for sure

A friend of mine was over the other day and for some reason he felt the need to prod one of my EL70 cones. He wasn't particularly gentle about it. The hair on the back of my heck stood on end and I could feel my face become quite hot. I really should have said something, but I have learned not to speak when I have those physical sensations. It is impossible for someone to fail to notice my anger in such situations.
So I just took a huge gulp of ale and smiled.
