I do have Hypex plate amps and will use them if needed…but only for Subwoofer duty and cut off as low as possible. Every time I tried using them fullrange they simply sound synthetic to me.
If you are patient and stalk the likes of the AudioMart regularly for a little while you may be rewarded by scoring a B4 or B5 at a good price.
This is the lazy way of letting Pa do all the work for you 😉
I did, and it was worth every penny.
I can use the B5 with my pair of stereo BJ2 to drive my entire OB/horn system. I just need to cut the top end down by about 12dB. It kills me throwing away all that efficiency, but it sounds beautiful.
Otherwise, I think its Pa’s 6-24 and OB EQ kits from the store and DIY.
