I've had another reply back from the company,

the op-amps are AD817 if that's any use...

Tom,

Look at the output relais.
They prevent the plops when switching on.
I did change mine too, it was broken down.

Do you hear a clic from the two relais when switching on after a second?

There's two clicks as soon as I switch it on, then a gap then a couple more clicks, it's nothing like the sequence on my other CD80.

When I switch it off, there's a couple of seconds before the relays click when they should click instantly.
