Hi to all,

After I finished one subwoofer i have decieed to built a new one, this time with Peerles XLS series sub's.
What I plan to build is a passive radiator design.
The box will have a tolat volume of 35 litres, tuned to 20Hz with a 625g mass.
high pass filter:
cut off freq: 17Hz
Q: 0,7
All this is from the D-S-T web site (www.d-s-t.com Peerless).

I want to order the sub and PR from PartsExpress + I can get a good shipping price to israel.. $80

what I will order is the Peerless 12" XLS sub #830500
but for the PR they only have the 12" XLS #830547 with 290g mass. so i want to add another 335g mass to get to 625g, where can i get it? because Peerless sais that there is an M5 threaded hole to add extra mass. but i cant find anywhere! can someone tell me what i can do to get that extra 335g?

also I have this active sub filter(attachment) that someone posted here.
I would like to mod it so that the high pass cut off freq will be 17Hz and a Q of 0,7 and for the low pass have a freq of 50-150Hz.

Thanks in advance,
Kinser

I recently built a sub similar to yours. My box was 1.35 cu. ft. (about 38L). The XLS PR has a round plate on the rear of the cone and it has a M5 threaded hole. The XLS PR includes a short bolt. The bolt will NOT be long enough to attach much weight. You will need to buy a longer bolt. My sub used the 425g PR and I added 175g to it by cutting disks from lead sheet. I hope you appreciate how much weight you are trying to add. 175g is a tall stack of washers common "fender washers" (steel). You are adding even more. My lead washer stack is about 1/2 inch thick. In theory at least, a thick stack of weights will create a cantilever on the PR.

I don't know how much Madisound charges for shipping, but I bought my XLS from Madisound because they were about $25 cheaper for the pair.

Hi altor,
my dad toled me the exact same thing today!
Do you know how much thay will charge for the import tax (vat?) ?
I cheked the prices at Madisound and I could get a better PR(425g) then from partsexpress(290g)and its $10 cheaper at Madisound and The same with the sub, $144 at Madisound and $159 at partsexpress. but i dont know the shipping price at Madisound.

Thanks,
Kinser

P.S.
Do you have ICQ? mine is 248-686-489!

VAT as usual in Israel - 17%. For all merchandize upper then $50 including the shipping price 🙁

Some years ago, I've tried to buy some speakers at the MCM-Electronics, it was "Big Sale", and there were Pioneer's 12" woofers.
(A friend of mine from Las Vegas, he bought the same woofers and was happy with them).

The price was extremely low - $30 ! But – 2 woofers + shipping to Israel - totally $105.
Plus 17% - $123, i.e. - $61/per woofer. The price doubled !
I pay from my Visa-card with the PayPal service, but not get the package - the package disappeared. After a month - MCM return back the payment, and since this time I’d never bought speakers and other heavy things at the US’s internet shops.

P.S.
