the sub (not the best choice but got a good deal) is dual 2 ohm wired in series and driven by amp8 (from 41Hz) at 1500wrms (14.4V into the SMPS) bridged into 4 ohms.
The old amprack along with the huge sub box can't fit together so I took out the rear seats so I can test them for a few days.
the goal was very high output at between 30-40Hz for that BOOM sound. 🙂 for SQ/everyday listening, the sub will be turned off or turned down.

nice, which one is the amp8? is the power output as listed or is that dynamic/peak watts?

I haven't compared it to other amps since I don't have any. hehehe
amp8 is not visible since it is between the amprack and the sub box. I have other pics showing the old setup where you can see everything. will post later. 🙂
1500w is the output at short bursts. it can do 1200watts continuously. so I'm not maxing out the sub.

i have 2-12" subs in my car by boschman....these subs are pretty good for the price...kills alot more expensive subs out there.
but the tinsels tore that were woven into the spider (which was paper) the tinsels tore at the joint.
so...i put in 2 cloth spiders per sub and doubled up the tinsels(non woven in)
and it actually got louder ! i have a 225hcca @ 1 ohm for the pair
i swear to god this amp is louder than alot of 1000 watt amps out there....
i have 2 hccas, but the one with the Ti opamps i put in are louder...or it may be because of the outputs, the one with the Ti's have 80 volt devices and the other one has 100volt transistors
gonna put this 2150sx on them ... if it ever decides to start working... 🙂

I installed a setup in a friend's car (same ride as mine) a 225HCCA (the one that blew) driving a dual 2ohm solo S12L5 at 1 ohm and it hits quite hard. much harder than what I expected it to be from 400watts. now I know why they got called "cheater amps" 😉

I had to modify the seat lock handle and extend it since the EQ is blocking the way......

hey man thats pretty tight...thats an alluring glow you got inside that box there....what did you use for a light?

I just used a single tube blue CCFL. the same thing used to light up CPU towers. 🙂
I'm afraid the vibration of the big sub might kill it sooner or later but i have an LED array waiting (but different shade of blue that's why I didn't use it) incase it happens.

nah. one box with one sub is already too big and the alternator is having a hard time powering the sub amp.
so two subs is out of the question.
