seems like it would vibrate like crazy and dampen the driver...but it looks neat. i've seen floor lamps that look similar.

i think i've seen those anthony gallo's before...i wonder where i could get just the ball enclosure without a driver...it'd be perfect for my tweeter pod...(and i like the table mounting stand too.)
anyway it's nice looking...probably good SAF design small and unobtrusive. in your version, you'll have to be careful about the thing staying balanced...it looks like it could tip over if it gets bumped slightly.

what about adding a second speaker beihind this speaker and use it like push-pull to eliminate the vibration

I built a pair of them long time ago. About 3 years ago in school for my class project. I used Copper tube. They turned out perfect I loved them. I then sand blasted them when I was done and painted them hi glossy black. I wish I had some pic's of them. they were a awsome Project. Hope your project turns out well for you. : O )
