My Mar-Ken10.2TT WAF optimised

Just to share.
With the help of the excellent drawings of planet10 I build this Mar-Ken10.2TT. In order to make the frontal look a bit softer, I rounded the corners. The outlets of the typical channels, I redirected to the sides. As this is my only Mar-Ken10.2TT, I cannot judge, how much I degraded the original design. What I do now, I like the sound 🙂. The comments of the family vary, from cool up to “still to large”.
Hope it gives inspiration.
Regards

Very nice! Agreed with others on grill idea. Have you been using any kind of special acoustic fabric or is it just chiffon? Currently I'm making grills for 7.3 pensils from chiffon on wooden frame, seems not affecting sound noticably.

While some would consider grilles only slightly less evil than crossovers in the mid telephone band area, I almost never complete a build without them- but I do get a local car installer to wrap the MDF frames with speaker cloth for me.

Using the "extra" flange ring is great idea - I've never played with them myself, but I assume there's just enough clearance for a single wrap of thin fabric to friction fit?

Thinks for the compliments. I used "standard" acoustic fabric. I puzzels a bit how to attache it proper to the ring. In the end, is was a 5 min job. 1) Start with a piece of oversized fabric. 2) make a additionele ring with a piece of solid chopper wire, twisting the end, to make a tight ring around the speaker ring. 3) put some dost of epoxy glue on the sites of the to the ring 4) put ring on the table, put fabric on top of it. 5) and now the trick, slide the additionele ring over it 6) as the fabric is a bit elasticiteit it is easy to make it smooth 7) after setting of the epoxy, take waar the copper ring and trim the fabric.
Hope it helps.
