This is a 500 watt peak Redgum Hard board plate amp mated to an Adire Shiva Mach III 12 inch driver in a 95 litre MDF cabinet. The vent is the Adire FB-4 12 inch vent kit.

The cabinet is handmade by myself, and is 1 inch MDF throughout including the bracing, and is very resistant to vibration.

Sorry about the shocking photo's, i couldnt get the lighting right.

The veneer came out really nice. What kind is it? Padauk?

As for the pictures, at first I thought it looked like a nice little bookshelf speaker, until I read that it was the Shiva driver. That sure looks like a big cabinet, judging from the Shiva driver that I have sitting on my shelf.

I hope that it works well for your application. I helped a friend finish a sealed shiva subwoofer a week or so ago in the Adire q=.7 reference design, and it works great.

Brian - it suits my apps just fine. Out of the 7 or so Shiva based subs I have completed, this would be the best overall design. I was always disappointed with sealed Shiva's, and the EBS alignment is just too low to be any good for music.

It is a Redwood laminate, I will try and take some better pics in the next couple of days.

John - The socks are already in!

Nice work on the veneer. I have built an ebs shiva (passive) and I'm getting ready to veneer it in 10mil paper backed veneer. Any advice you could give to me would be appreciated since it will be my first attempt. I've got an idea on the basics but the corners are going to be tricky. How did you get such nice corners? Thanks for your input.
