I bought a rather cheap, on Amazon, composite video to HDMI adapter and used it to drive the LD into the TV ( And LG OLED ), Other than it was 4:3, the sound, color and detail were pretty good ( OK, the TV did a good job of upscaling it ).
I did the same thing with the Superbeta but the heads need some calibration.... the controls all still work fine.

Maybe worth hanging on to Star Wars, the terrible 'improvements' they made to them later will perhaps not be on those versions.
I did find the torrent for 16mm copies of the first three, in the original cinema form, and they are actually really nice to watch, and flow much better as a story.
