There was the time every hi-fi store playing Fly Robin Fly very very loud, to lure the punters into their store. Good demo track for bass I guess, that really reminded me of those good old sansui and poineer top of their lines amps...Those were the days...
Those were the days...
Ye... I could not own even a radio. I was hunting music bars.
Drinking and dancing... CCR... Who Will Stop the Rain... Susie Q

Trendsetter.....
In 1980 at the end of my last years work, I took a Greyhound bus from Brisbane to Perth for my first holidays.
Whilst in Perth I met a beautiful hot babe (toes to nose suntan 😉 ) who had just come back from the US, and told me of a great new movie called the Blues Brothers.
A week later I was back home and haunting my local import/second hand record shop and came across a new import copy of the The Blues Brothers Soundtrack, so I promptly bought it.
As soon as I got home I put it on the turntable, and instantly loved it.
So did all of my friends, who all wrestled tape copies (no cd-burners then) out of me.
Before long there was a whole bunch of friends listening to this classic.
About 10 months later, the film was released here, and we got to understand the record better.
That record was a favorite at many parties until a girlfriend stepped back and put a stiletto heel through it 🙄 .
Nowadays I have the cd version, but it ain't quite the same.
Eric.

New Order
I really liked the first one: "Movement" . The rest was too much pop sounding. After Boney M. I had enough of pop.😉

Pop Or Poop......
I worked on a Michael Jackson tour that came here a few years ago.
The tour was called 'Michael Jackson, King Of Pop', and there were A4 prints stuck up around the place.
One of these stuck to back of stage had been altered by one of the road crew to read 'Michael Jackson, King Of Poop'. 😀
And it was.....

Frank,
I used to listen to Fad Gadget a lot.
j6you,
I don't know if you like Queen, but "Live Killers" is pretty good as well as Uriah Heep "Live in Europe 1979"

Two albums that I wore out are "Frampton Live" and The Who "Live at Leeds". I also wore out an 8-track of "Live at Leeds".😎
