Concrete lotts of positives and the burglers wont bother pinching the speaker,to solid/heavy. Def non reasonant as well.
Haha that’s for sure, I can't even move it myself more than few meters, it’s in the house and will stay there forever!
In case I don't need it anymore I’ll revamp it in a dog or cat house.
In next ones I’ll target thiner walls, with floor mix then, boosted with what I can find around, steel mesh, fiberglass, sawdust etc
Forgot to say that I started with a tentative in a smaller box, but with cement mixed with wood pellets I had around.
The idea was to minimize weight, while maybe leveraging some dampening properties of the pellets (kind of a light mdf).
Well disaster... the pellets of course drank all the water, cement dried only on the surface and at the end the box exploded 😛

Surely the point is the high density of concrete makes it vibrate less in response to the sound pressure waves. It you want light construction, don't use concrete, use internal bracing 😉
@Groundloops: I was under the impression concrete always shrunk after the chemical hardening process is finalized. Your drivers still seem to fit the baffle though..
How do you achieve that?
Is this Knauf stuff shrink-free?
