My ClonAc 2.5 project questions.

ok, I've got the cabinets built, and they look pretty sweet. I'va got a few questions for the group before I go much further...

I'm about put the vent tubes in and I couldn't find 2 7/8" pipe here in the US. I went with the 3" that I found at my local hardware store. (It is black so that part is pretty cool.) Is this what everyone else is using, or should I shorten/lengthen the tube to compensate?

Where are people mounting their x-overs? Are you bi-wiring, or splitting it at the x-over?

How much dampening material are you putting in the cabinet? I've got the sticky-tarpaper stuff for the insides, and about 20' of the dacron padding ready to use.

I used 3" tubing, followed the plans for length and for damping material.

My rec. for wiring is to biwire to the binding posts and then use external xover. This makes it easier to change things later (or biamp).

I'm currently doing listening tests on a biamp setup with active xovers. I started a thread a while back on it.

I wish I would have seen that idea before I started building them. I was planning on leaving the back removable for a week or two so I can seal the crossovers in after I decide which one I want. I was also thinking of putting a "pod" type thing on the back of the speaker.

the problem is I have all these crossovers made and have to wait till Tuesday to pick up my cabinets. I can hardly wait. =)
