I finally got around to building my subs. Two micro Martys. Rss390ho-4 drivers. Running both off a Crown xls1502 high passed at 30hz. Only been on for a couple hours but sound good so far. Need to get through break-in and get me more amp.

The Fisherman,

Nice build there, I thought the whole "Marty" box was an British thing? Those should serve you very well for HT & music. Just keep in mind if your pushing a lot of wattage to them, below tuning they'll unload and reach XMech. I don't know if the Dayton's are considered "bottomless", IE, VC won't crash the rear plate? Most receivers don't include an adjustable hi-pass, if at all for the .1/.2 channel(s).

BTW, what flavor are your mains & center ch, I'd say thay almost look like Warfdales, but I don't think they are.

Come to think of it, those little silver feet look suspiciously just like the one on my Energy towers?

Also, never mind about my hi'-pass statement! I didn't see the DSP Crown hiding on the floor.

Nice Marantz too, I've got an slightly older one running the livingroom rig. One of the nicest sounding receivers I've ever owned. Same parent company as Denon, yet those sound very veiled to me in comparison. I just wished the newer one's displays weren't so small.

Thanks for the look and kind words. I am high passed at 30hz at the moment, lowest high pass on the Crown. Looking for more amp, probably the NX6000D, seems to be somewhat ubiquitous in diy subwoofer world. Will also be adding more subs as I am firmly stuck deep in the rabbit hole.
My mains are Polk Rti a9 with corresponding center. Will be doing new diy main speakers in the the future and Polk will be repurposed for surround.

You'll probably like the Behringer units better as their DPS is much more advanced.

Polk Rti's, I thought that lineup had the concentric ring tweeters not domes? Anyway, hopefully they sound as good as they look.

Yeah more subs is twice the fun. And with the extra headroom if they're tuned low enough you could xover lower too. Be forewarned, after a certain qty of subs & power your drywall will start suffering.

You'll find stange piles of chalk dust at first, then the larger stuff starts falling down, followed by the "Oh Sh*t - look at those huge cracks". Don't ask me how I know.
