I used two 2kW / 2x74V AC trafos which give me about +- 105V rails when rectified and with 80000µF capacitors.
It has 20 output transistors per channel.
It weights about 50-60kg and I its very hard/impossible for one man to carry it around (i once carried it 2 floors down and it was very painful🙂). Its measures are: 48cm wide, 20cm high, 70cm deep
The amplifier was tested with sinus signal with loads down to 2 ohm, it gives:
2x 650W RMS @ 8 ohms
2x 1.2kW RMS @ 4 ohms
2x 2kw RMS @ 2 ohms - after 1 hour of full power in that load it becomes very hot:>
Here are the pictures taken at my friends place when we were preparing stuff for the party.. Unfortunately we couldnt get more speakers😀D

Now I want to make a class D amp of that power and smps for it, but until this will happen.... any ideas?😀

Hi skaara,
See the link at the bottom of this post for ideas on high power SMPS. Also see http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?goto=newpost&threadid=14847

JasonL said:How do you expect to pull 2kw through that little DINKY power cord. ?
Probably a standard 10 A cord which means at least 2.4kW here in 240 V Europe. running things a bit high he could probably get that through without too much of a problem.
Looks great, I really like the heatsink layout.
I thought my amp was heavy with 2 x 1Kva tranfos in it but 2 x 2Kva
Come on give us some pics of the guts.
What your mains supply? 2 x 2Kw means over 16.5 Amps even at 100% efficiency on 240v. That cable is rated at 10 Amps max and the inlet on the amp is probably only 6 Amps. I thought I was pushing it on my amp.
You may want to try the large IEC connectors rated at 16 Amp:
RS: 16amp

At the time i was doing the pics it wasnt really the time to open it, but i promise you ill make some the next time i get digital photo again.
Yes im using 10A/16Amax power cord, it gets "warm"🙂 after i run the amp at full power for a long time, but it works.. i know i have to get better/proper one at some point.. The inlet to which was connected was rated 25A.
