Pros:
- Greatest price performance ratio smile.gif
- Uses -cheap- standart MH bulb ( 150 watt default )
- Works silent enough ( ? Db )
- Useful/small commander
- Lcd's native resolution is 800x480 pixels ( which is perfect to watch Divx, DVD movies, digital TV broadcasts, also perfect for gaming )
- Lcd has amazing response time ( on the paper; it's 50-100 ms, but believe me it responses faster than my 12 ms desktop lcd )
- Lcd does not get even warm when operating ! So bulb can be easily upgraded to 250 watt MH even with default fans !..
- Heat sensor of the bulb can be easily hacked ( to use 250 watt MH bulb )
- One more 80 mm fan can be easily mounted externally ( if necessary )
- 2x "quality" acyrlic fresnel lenses
- Built-in "tv tuner" !
- Scren door effect level is very tolerable ( even from ~250 cm seating distance, with ¨200 cm diagonal picture )
- Perfect for small rooms
- Mount holes lol ! It has (2+1) huge screw holes
- Built-in heat protection
- Vertical keystone ( mechanically )
- A lot of inputs (vga+s-video+composite av in-out+tv)
- Stylish case
- Built-in speaker (may be 5-10 watt RMS)
- Adjustable front stands
- Compact form (you can take it anywhere under your arm🙂)
Cons :
- Ansi lumen level is not that good ( however it's quite satisfactory )
- Built-in speaker makes distortion when using with TV input
- Picture is a little blurry at right-top corner of the projected screen ( due to incorrectly located fresnel sad.gif )
- There is some electrical noise ( due to MH bulb components )
- There is no horizontal keystone adjustment

But it wasn't me. I bought it for ~600 bucks. You can get almost same projector from Lumenlab.
you can get it from ally direct for $450 (that's including shipping!!). That's where I got mine, and they give you a spare bulb

Makey I have a question about spare bulb: What kind of box that spare bulb has ? Is there any sign for bulb wattage (socket type, color temp. etc.) on the box ? Thx in advance...

Where can I buy this projector in the USA?
When I go to the site, all prices show up as $0 USD even if I am logged in.
Thanks!

Thanks for the reply.
However, I don't know if this is true, but I heard that the lumenlab ones are using a lower quality/resolution LCD screen than the "original" Ally ones.
Is there any truth to this, or was this only speculation?
Also, what types of bulbs do these take?
hi makey2
hi makey2,
can we order the projector from ally site? I was not able to do so? please let me know how to do so

Lumenlab's projector has identical lcd panel with PTV01-B. Panel's native resolution is : 800x480 pixels. So it's speculation only, as you thought. 🙂 You know there are some people with Lumenlab obsession. 😀 They're allergic with Lumenlab Projector's "$30 bulb" and its "decent lcd panel" (decent means; best for $500 with $30 bulb cost).
Anyway, I even watch 1080p and 720p movies on it, and I've really satisfied with its pixel compression quality @ 800x600 & 1280x960. They will be sellin' it in two months with some gifts...
Re: hi makey2
I think if you e-mail them, they will send it after payment. As far as I know, their web site is kind of non-functioning. I was bought mine from a local seller, not from Ally...
