Hi, I made a PCB layout for Aleph3.
Being a “pcb novice” I would appreciate any comments on it. The odd size of the board is due to size restriction. I plan to use 2x 0.22R 5w resistors at the output, and 2x 1R 1watt resistors as source resistors. Please let me know if you se any errors or possible improvements.

Yes, that’s Eagle. I tried various other pcb programs, but I have to say that Eagle is by far the easiest to learn and use.
but here are some comments
r102 and c1o1 too close
r110 q104 - too close
r114 and cap - try to make it fit better by moving track up a little until the hole reaches a middle of track
q106 r116 holes too close
generally try to place holes more in the middle of tracks not on the border or corner of them

iam using eagle too
iam working on aleph 5 so your pcb inspired me a lot!!
i have just finshed schematic and planning to do some routing tommorow
i have one question
could you post your eagle files?

Could you post your Eagle pcb file on that PCB here? That would make it alot easier for all of us to have them made if need be.
Thanks!
Mark
Thanks!

mark, did you mean my aleph 5?
or this posted pcb if you meant my aleph 5
it is a unfinished schematic only at this time i will post it when it will be ready

Thanks for your comments xsnailx. I have tried moving some parts around as you commented. Attached you will find zipped schematic and pcb layout for eagle. It’s made with version 4.01 so I don’t know if it will work with the newest shareware version. If you run a erc check you will get a pin overlap warning on the diodes. I don’t know way this happens, but it always does when I use bzx55 diodes in the schematic.

Request for Aleph3 PCB overlays & parts list
Hi Kermit
I have been looking at some of the threads on the aleph3 amp. But |just gets a little confusing. I am requesting some help by asking you if you would kindly let me have a copy of the PCB overlay And Parts List.
I would be most gratefully to you
Thanks
Regards
Colin

make board bigger little bit
e$22 e$23 too close solpad and trace to small
e$35 e$36 the same
es33 es 15, es13 es4 solpad too close to the edge
😉

Thanks for picking up the tread xsnailx, I haven’t been around for a wile. Just a word of caution with the bill of materials. For the layout I used different irf’s and bc’s and changed their values (they weren’t in the lib). So were it says Value: IRFP240 Device: IRFC040, it is in fact IRFP240.
By the way the boards are almost finished now, I just need to pick up some irf’s and I should be up and running. Case is coming (slowly) along too.
