My 3-way horn system

What do you think about flipping over horn on 90 degrees? Like in volti audio Alura. Will i hear difference? Of distance between driver and woofer will be too big?

You'll be dealing with off-axis issues and pattern flip at some frequency. That's why performance acoustic horns are oriented with their widest axis horizontally--the axis where your ears are most sensitive to polar response deviations--and also the direction which typically experiences the greatest variation in listening angle in-room.

As for Volti loudspeakers in general: while Greg Roberts is apparently a very good woodworker-cabinetmaker, I wouldn't consider his loudspeaker designs to be based on good psychoacoustic engineering principles (except those models that he took directly from Klipsch, which consists mainly of an updated La Scala II design--which is apparently a good performer).

Remember that consistent polar performance--especially in the horizontal axis--is #1 in precedence from Sean Olive's measured-to-subjective preferences model. On-axis frequency response flatness is actually #2...(if you read his JAES paper closely).

Thanks for information

Hi to all
Some news...
Finally i have got crossovers( not final version on cheaper parts - monacor mkp and jb supreme capacitors, air core inductors with 1,6mm diameter, monacor attenuators)
Also i’m building new house and set room for audio (37 square meters and 3,2m height)
I would like to see some recommendations with room(painting, floor material etc)
Thanks in advance
With best regards, Andrew
