I have a Musical Fidelity M1HPA and I see my woofers move slowly back and forth. If vol pot is turned down the movement is worst. Maybe 5 mm. When itøs turned all the way up, there is no cone movement.

That does sound like dc, have you measured if it's the case? Have you still dc blocking caps in or are they bypassed?
It should be original, but I have bought it second hand so not sure. It's in my main system used by all family members, so not so easy to take it out for measurement. But maybe I could use headphone output to see if it's the same issue
I think you misunderstood. I will not open and measure with power. But I could try the headphone output first
Might not be the preamp, but the dsp crossover between preamp and poweramp. Will test this later.
