Hey 🙂
Please don't shoot me if this is stupid or I've posted it in the wrong place, I tried :3
Basically we're having a party end of next month and I'm 'in charge' of the music but I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing. I've got my Spotify Premium on my laptop which in some way I have to blast out around the garden.
I've got a Fender 25R Practice amp which is sufficiently loud: I tried plugging my laptop in and as soon as I turned the volume up to three on the dial my ears started hurting. Although there was a obvious crackle as soon as I turned it up any more.
I was wondering if the best thing to do was to get a Behringer UCA202 and plug that into my laptop, and then plug the fender into the behringer via a two-way stereo rca, would that work well enough?
Also the Behringer is 45Khz and my Spotify music is in 160/320Kbps.
Would this set-up work and do you have any suggestions
Thanks!! 🙂

Those specs. aren't at all relevant 😀

A UCA202 is a great little device (I have a UFO202), and would give you higher quality than using the laptops sound card - however, I don't see as you need to spend the money (even though it's not much).
If the Fender is loud enough, and you're happy with the sound, then use it as it is. You would get much greater improvement by using a higher powered PA amp rather than a guitar one, stereo instead of mono, and a decent pair of speakers - guitar amps are pretty poor quality, which is what guitarists are looking for 😀
While it might sound pretty loud now, once you get loads of people round it the sound will be a LOT quieter.
How big is the room?, and how many guests do you think might be there?.
I don't know about specs ****, as I said, I know nothing!!! 🙂
The only problem with the 3.5mm in my laptop is that it does just sound generally **** and I would want to turn the fender up much louder, obviously with more people it would be quieter which is why i want something louder but I just can not afford to pay £400 for any hire.
Shoot me if i'm stupid but the red and black/white sockets on the amp are stereo right? :3

From the picture I saw those do look like stereo RCA connectors on the AUX Input so your laptop should be able to connect there with the right cable.Shoot me if i'm stupid but the red and black/white sockets on the amp are stereo right? :3
using a guitar amp box as main pa you may not be able to keep up with the very latest high end gear...
Hi,
A decent guitar combo in no shape or form is good for
replaying music, they universally will not sound good.
(They will do a good job of ripping your ears off...)
Borrow a PA amplifier and some PA speakers, if you
play guitar you must know someone with the kit.
rgds, sreten.

I am not affiliated with Guitar Center but you can rent PA systems from them.
Maybe just rent some powered PA speakers and use your lap top as a source, you won't need a mix board if all your doing is playing tracks off the lap top.

Not in the UK - shipping might be steep.
OP, I'll see what I can find in your area. Guitar amps don't do bass. Plus, if it cooks part-way through, you're knackered. 25w into an 8" speaker is puny...
I have a half-decent PA up here. Gimme a PM if you want to talk about that. If you can help move it, I'd be up for a trip.
Chris
Keep one thing in mind, it is a party, not a concert. yes a little Fender practice amp is not a good PA system. But most parties are about socializing, and not sitting there critically listening to the music. people will be talking about football, not the lack of soundstaging and that certain graininess of the midrange... So I wouldn't concern overly about tonal issues.
If the small Fender amp seems sufficient, is there no one there with a boombox (portable stereo) that would suffice?
For that matter a basic home stereo receiver and speakers ought to be better than a guitar amp.
I can tell you as a professional soundman that human bodies soak up the sound a lot. That amp sitting on a table or the floor may sound loud now, but when 50 people are in front of it, it won;t be nearly as loud. And if the party is outdoors, well outdoors is the toughest room there is to fill with sound.
