Muses 72320 vs Muses 72323

HI to all ,

I was wondering if someone could explain me the difference between the MUSES 72320 and the MUSES 72323 ?

Is there one better in term of sound quality ?

Is there one better in term of functions ?

Or maybe direct me where this already open subject

Thanks for your help !

Muses 72323 is new version with slightly less distortion and noise. As Muses 7230 already has very low distortion and noise this differences are not something we could hear. I have built volume controls with both chips and there is no difference in sound quality.

Functionality is determined by design implementing Muses volume control. For me, incentive to build another volume control with new chip was that meldano made new version with more built-in control options (i.e. balance control and variable volume step).

Hi could you please tell me something more about the sound quality? Do you still use it or found some other solutions?
Thanks a lot

Both Muses volume controls I’ve built are in use. There isn’t any better solution for me. Though, reasons why I find Muses volume control to be the best, may not apply for someone else.
I can easily measure their distortion and noise and they do differ. However, distortion and noise are low enough to make those volume controls audibly transparent.
Aside Muses transparency, I find great value in precise volume, balance and remote controls.

Some subjective comments about sound and measurements:

hi thank you very much indeed for your kind and valuable advice
I will look at the thread you linked It could be really the ultimate volume control solution
I remember to have read something about another product the PGA 2310/2311 that is used in a high quality unit
https://hometheaterhifi.com/volume_12_4/classe-cap-2100-integrated-amplifier-10-2005-part-2.html
The preamp circuit is based on the Texas Instruments OPA-2134 audio op-amp, and the PGA-2310 digital audio volume control (a single IC containing op-amps and digital potentiometers).
i have to read more Thanks again for the very helpful reply and advice
