I thought both not good. The IDAT-44 only has 2 DAC ic/ channel and 18 BIT only while BIDAT doesn't mention how many DAC ic they use per channel (maybe 1 or 2). It mentions 18-20 BIT. It's already obsolete. The more DAC ic used the sound close to analog bcs the more digital signal can be proceed per second. Now days many DAC capable of 24-32 BIT. If they don't mention the number of DAC ic used means could be 1 or 2 only bcs the more DAC ic the more expensive the unit but also its appeal/ a class higher thn common cheap DAC. Audio-GD uses 4 DAC ic/ channel, Metrum Hex 8/ ch(WOW !!! Read the review at Review: Metrum Hex NOS DAC - The Elitist Journal), Metrum Octave 4/ ch.

I am curious. Did you listen to Bidat and/or IDAT? Or you just say "both not good" by looking at the specs?
