Only 16 degrees dispersion in vertical direction? That's horrible compared to a tall, narrow ESL.
As Calvin mentioned, too high dispersion is not desirable. It only makes the sound more mixed with reflections from walls.
One of reasons ESLs sound so nice is that the ratio of direct to reflected sound is higher compared most other systems IMO.

still look pretty nice, also minor note, dont think its fair to compare the speakers with the mic used in recording wich is a mixture from figure of 8 to omni, and everyhting in between/combined. more impoortend they are MIXED on non omnidirectional speakers. just dont think you can compare the recording polar with the polar used in the loudspeaker. or you have to get a paper with your cd for each recoridng to set ur speakers appart acording to the recoring angle etc..... what to do if there are more mic's? like few omni;s few cardiod, super cardiod, maybe some stereo AB ....... endlesss. its a bit easy to say they crap, also the 16 degree vertical dispersion is not best but do you need more when listening (seated)? verry bad horzontal dispersion can be more anoying, try to listen with 2 people.
btw i dont work for there company 😉 and if i ever dare to ask so much for a speaker then pls hang me 🙂
one thing i wonder about is how much of the backwave they collect? or do we have some out pf phase material going trough the acoustical transparant menbrame on the other side?
