You talk about the ones close to 'kharma room': i think they are inwall loudspeakers! Very nice i agree.

Worse and most disappointing stuff on the show:
-Living voice haven't brought the vox!!! I have of course submitted an official complaint.
They showd the very cool looking OBX
-Western Electric new concept speaker looked well... hideous and sounded just like, nope. I didn't stay very long.
-Magico m6. Ho Magico ho Magico... I used to be a magico fanboy but I grew old, and now I prefer paper cones and tubes.
The magico m6 sounded excactly as what it is. A formula one car trying to be fastest in everything yet forget to stop and smell the flowers.
All Accutone, ceramic based speakers... and there were a lot! Somehow I'm not really into ceramics... also when it's Kahrma speakers and cost a gazillion. Sorry correction, kahrma are using diamonds- nope, not helping either.
And last and worst.
Goldmund. So you are Swiss... and from the Geneva part so you are loaded....how on earth do you come up with those sharp towers? You could easily make a salad using those edges. Not impressive... who are the buyers of such product?
-honorabl mention would also be the open war committed by all presenters. In most rooms the loudness was just unbelievable. And many especially the dynamic drivers were suffering from compression... that was really unnecessary.

No alas! I asked scan speak about it and they said the A50 were playing in some other hotel. They also added that renting a room in this audio show costs a fortune... yet.. they must be good off having so many companies using their drivers

A friend visiting there told me that on the "affordable" side of things there's a new Epos slanted baffle speaker sounding good.
He also saw a mission 700 reissue on static display, should be still in the ironing out phase by Comeau.
The Vivas really caught my eye and the design looks intriguing. If I had the room and money, I'd look at those closer. You can't beat a well designed horn loaded setup for dynamics and overall realism.
These days, I'm really tired of the hyper dsp corrected clinical sounding stuff ie Magico. I agree paper cones are generally the preferred driver type for hearing the "music" as a whole. The one trick pony ceramics and spaceage synthetic materials that some how always portrait their character just don't cut it for me. The exception may be some Be and other metal alloy HF drivers.
