multiple tape outs

Hi,

I'd like to have more than one Tape Out from my DIY preamp to connect to a couple of tape decks and one for connection to a headphone amplifier.

They would be taken from after the input selector (and unity gain buffer) and before the volume pot.

Do I need to include something like series resistors or can they be direct feeds to each deck/headphone amp (only one will ever be used at a time, but it saves plugging/unplugging connectors).

Thanks

When I built a 23-output distribution box for live concerts, I put series resistors in so that one shorted load did not kill signal to all loads. (One professional suggests that with up to one-third of loads shorted, signal to the remaining loads should not be significantly degraded, he must work in a tough place.)

Three loads at home, I would just use Y-adapters.

I would suggest simple signal switch instead of Y adapter. Having signal going to 3 inputs at the same time, while only one is powered, while others may be turned off is problematic. You may pick up some hum or buzzes.
