I would like to correct a rather large hump in the freq range of a wide range driver. I need to loose about 15dB around 3kHz. Is it possible to wire 5 pcs of parallel notch filter in series???
Yes, if you wanted to have a 15dB notch filter, you could do 5 in series, but they wouldn't simply sum the way you're hoping.
Better is to notch it out line level, for such a dramatic notch. This will take some calculation (or a high-resolution equalizer).
If you must do it speaker level, you would probably have to do a multiple component filter.

I was afraid/hoping an active crossover would be the best way. I will try to find some information and formulas on the subject.
