Multichannel Sound Card using Usbstreamer & Bufalo II DAC

Hey Was just wondering if anyone can help here

Ive been looking at Usbstreamer & Buffalo III Dac or similar

Can anyone tell me if building my own system like this is feasable and would work and what else would need to be involved ?
and can I build this without much programming skils and without too much complication ?

Im basicly wanting to make a multitrack sound card for recording my own songs.

Any idea of the latency that setup would give? That's a big consideration. I do wonder if you'd be better off buying a used pro-audio unit.

Thats a really good point, the latency does matter otherwise id be having to sync my recorded tracks back in time. I guess id have no way to find out unless I build the thing first. Yes I was thinking of a RME - UFX pro interface, or Antelop Audio etc
