Is there any info on the web for this pentode? I've had a search and cannot find anything.
Much appreciated for a pointer if there is one.

Have been pointed to http://www.tubecollector.org/cv4015.htm already.
It appears that a certain "well known search engine" pointed me to the 'forsale' page when I searched for them - and I mostly ignore these when searching.

It's like a 6BJ6, only with higher mu.
Generating my tube tester chart for it, it seems remote-cutoff.

Tx Geek,
I'm only asking as a 'local' eBay auction is for 100 of these M8161 types, still in the original packaging. BIN of $Aus145. Not sure whether to go for them or not.
Ah, M8161, why didn't you say earlier? I have the Mullard data sheet for M8161. It has very nice flat pentode curves and would make a very good CCS for currents between 10mA and 1mA, Pa(max.) = 3W, Va(max.) = 300V, and it says it's resistant to vibration. It is, however, a variable-mu pentode, so forget any use as an audio amplifier.
Hi,
A mate in the UK bought 100 of these for 1/2 that 😉

Hi,
For Valve / Tube data etc. try this link:

Always works for me!
