Purchased from a police auction, hooked it up, thinking the worst that might happen is it would just be doa. Turns out it set my voice coils on fire instantly. I disconnected the speakers and tested the terminals, I am getting a solid 80v output regardless of what the gain settings, volume sets, any settings really are set to. The led efx doesn't light up either. I did keep it hooked up without speakers connected and noticed the cooling fans come on though, so it's not completely lame.
I sent MTX an email and they gave me a "sorry that amp is out of date" and "maybe the mosfets and capacitors need replaced"
Any insight on if this will be an easy repair. I'm experienced with swapping caps and larger parts.
