I had luck with single capped morel cat378 with eminence b102 run wide open.
Seeing stuff on tekton enzo and pendragon. mmttt / mtttm
Since i sit darn far now, can i get away with a mttm or mmtt ?
Less distortion, more sd for bass far away.

I think Patric Bateman has demonstrated in many threads that tweeters don't combine constructively high up so no efficiency gain in the tektons. More woofers should be fine, but a 3-way would probably be less of a compromise than 2.5 ways. Tektons driver combination is more for looks than sound I think.
Those Tekton tweeters are wired such that the central tweeter runs from xover to the very highs. The flanking tweeters are running from xover to a frequency where they are low passed. The 3 are then equalised to yield a flat on axis response. Distortion is reduced since all 3 tweeters are sharing the low frequency in the bandwidth of interest. Only central is running at the very highs so no destructive inteference, kind of.
The radiation pattern of an MTM (here) looks good enough for long distance listening. No idea about MTTM, Sir.
That radiation pattern is only at the xover frequency, very small bandwidth actually
Interesting. Still it looks a market differentation trick since tweeter could be highpassed higher in a 3-way design. Is there measurements available somewhere? I'll look.

Seems to be a marketing department decision to use three tweeters 🙂

Of course it is, there is just one lambda (and frequency) for the distance d.
Well, it is no clever design by any means...Seems to be a marketing department decision to use three tweeters 🙂
To the OP: waveguides/horns would fill in your needs.
- Home
- Loudspeakers
- Multi-Way
- Mttm for 14' listening ?
