That is more or less correct...
I'll just add that you do not need a TV Licence to listen to the radio in the UK.
The one thing I can enjoy in the USA is some of those british shows, even if they are peppered with commercials here.
Free TV service (over the air broadcast).
Shows like Benny Hill, Are you being Served, Keeping Up Appearances, Mrs Browns Boys, etc.
Oh, and I love Judy Dench in As Time Goes By.

This information is over a year old.
When shortages was more of a problem.
When hard to get items , finally did appear.
Greedy turds buy them all and then try and resale for higher prices.
If your were ordering a small count of devices non issue.
if your account history shows huge lots purchased.
like 100 to 1000 devices. Then it is obvious you are
not a hobbyist.

Not necessarily so. They did change my account status back to where it should be, so there was some agreement between us on that point....like 100 to 1000 devices. Then it is obvious you are

You can't beat a generous helping of double entendres!
After just telling me they changed by account status, I tried to reorder the few CoilCraft inductors I need. Every single item on that sales order was just canceled without any prior notification.
Wow. That's pretty remarkable. It's been a few weeks since I last ordered from Mouser. I'll let you know if I run into trouble with my next order (hobbyist, business, whatever status or not).
I usually split my orders between Mouser and Digikey (occasionally looping in Future) depending on who's lower cost for the quantities I need. If Mouser won't sell to me Digikey will get more business.

Other issues could be misguided policies or broken computer systems. It does not have to be nefarious.

Tom
Not necessarily nefarious. Peter Principle could suffice to explain. If there are policies then there are humans calling the shots somehow or other.
True. Its getting starting to get frustrating, but we are working it out on the phone right now.

It's also required that able bodied men practice archery in case of invasion. And we send children up chimneys to sweep them.I wonder..... do they still do that insane stuff?
When '24' was first shown in UK there was huge confusion as each episode was only 45 minutes long...
In May 2022 Mouser refused to sell me some HLMP-6000 claiming I was a acting as a non-stocking distributor. An email cleared it up but it was just 20 pieces or so. Never happened before or since.
In Denmark there used to be a radio licence and a TV licence. I think there even used to be different licences for colour and B&W TV. The radio-only licence was lower cost than TV. The TV licence included radio. That converged to a media licence once people started streaming on their computers.I'll just add that you do not need a TV Licence to listen to the radio in the UK.
I just looked it up. These days the media licence is apparently handled through the regular income tax. Basically a chunk of the income tax goes to public broadcasting, which tends to be of quite high quality. That seems like a pretty reasonable approach.

Have had problems with Mouser and switched to Digikey (for now), although I've also had problems with Digikey in the past. That said, I don't take any wooden nickels. I try to be a good seller, I'm nobody's favorite buyer.
It's only a matter of time before Amazon decides to monopolize this business line, which will be bad for everyone.
