I purchased a couple of toroidal transformers recently for a project. They were a great price and I assume "surplus" as the don't look used. However, they came without any mounting hardware.
How do others mount toroids securely? Is it possible to purchase the usual dished metal washers and neoprene washers? I have searched at Digikey and Newark without success. I emailed Plitron who made the xformers, but they have not deigned to respond.
These transformers have no central potting, although they are well wrapped with heavy plastic. So far I am thinking I will use a couple of pieces of hardboard and some washers to spread the load, but I am concerned that th toroids will still be free to slide around laterally.
Thanks for any ideas.

Use a strip of aluminium and two rubber washers
or
Cable ties with self-adhesive cable tie bases...

Thanks!
Thanks for the pointers. The zip ties might be the way to go. Alpha-core have exactly what I need, and I don't mind buying their minimum quantity of 10 even though I only have 2 transformers to secure, but they want more than twice the value of the goods to ship them! *sigh* I love living in Canada, but it sure is a hassle when you try to shop on-line.

You know, nezbleu, I checked the PLITRON web pages and I couldn't find anything about the washers to secure their toroids....but then again, I'm not surprised. My 1 dealing with them was disappointing at best. That was a good lead by lanchile though.
The Belgian web shop "conrad" sells those nickel-plated dishes + large washers separate from the transformers, but I guess shipping to CA would be very expensive too

I'm sure they are very nice people, but they won't sell the kits without the transformers. At least they had the decency to reply, which is more than 2 other suppliers did.
Zip ties it is!
Early on you mentioned clamping them down, but a concern they copuld still slide horizontally. So do what they do even with the huge cup washers - add a layer of rubber underneath. That won;t slide.
