Mounting Hardware

I'm doing a bulk order to stock up some M3 hardware.

Looking for suggestions of some of the more common lengths that I may want to keep on hand?

My DIY AB honeybbadger has been on hold for a few years now, and I'm really shooting to finish it up, and stock up on sizes I may want for future projects.

Thanks,
Tim

Thanks for the tip. I have been having a terrible time trying to find a good supplier.

Do you know if these will work with the DIY pre-drilled hetdsinks? in terms of the correct pitch?

0.5mm is the standard pitch for M3. You do not need any high-tensile or specialty hardware with aluminium, but you will need to drill and tap properly and lubricate the treat (I use petroleum jelly, there are better lubricants) to avoid binding.
The data sheet will show the hole sizes in the pre-drilled heat-sinks. If these are US made and tapped they are likely imperial dims.
Send me a pm and I'll mail you a small qty. of M3s. E

Thanks for the pitch info 🙂. I don't mind ordering them, I am gonna need a variety on hand anyways. I just don't know what sizes are common for mounting devices.

I'm thinking 8,10,12,14,16mm would cover most if you factor in a washer, or thermal bar across the front of the output devices. Just a guess. If they sold metric hardware on this cursed island, I'd go buy a handful of sizes to try!

I purchase mine off ebay.
Even ebay cant get a bolt and nut wrong ?

I love the hardware side of building systems.
Drilling and tapping is good fun.
I enjoy building up amps with TO3 packages on heatsinks but some people hate it.
I use the pcb carefully as a drilling template.

Thanks for the tip! I always forget about ebay.

I enjoy the assembly process, but I bought a predrilled heatsink firm the DIY Audio store to keep my first build simple. I have a drill press, but I never bothered to set it up in my new place yet.
