Mounting Amps on top of CLX Cabinets

I know this would not likely provide any positive results other than aesthetics -- but I'm wondering if it would be a mistake.

My space is limited and I'd like to try placing my amps ( Spectron Mono blocks) on top of the speaker box housings of my ML CLX speakers (with still point feet) .

This would get me a very short path for the amp to speaker connections and minimize the floor space taken ----- but I'm not sure if the vibrations would be problematic -- or if having the bottom 8 inches of the panels blocked at the rear will have a noticeable impact on the sound. I don't play at high volumes and these amps don't generate much heat.

Anyone tried this ? -- bad Idea ?

thanks

Bart,

Glad to see your CLX still running after the flood repairs.
I don't see a problem with what you have in mind, except where there are cutouts on the top cover of the black ML box is where there are power resistors on the crossover board underneath and ML use the cutouts for resistor cooling so you need to make sure you have an inch or two clear above the cutouts. Maybe some one by one or two by two lengths panted black under the amp.

Me ? I occasionally still monkey with mine, a few power supply changes / upgrades? lately, but generally still very happy with them. I did change subs to 2 JL F212.
