The researchers cant hear. 1,2 and 4 are basically the same sound, the nails on chalkboard is a terrible recording that dosnt sound like its supposed (or it would be higher on the list.) The others I couldnt listen to, but there are a thousand different baby crying (screaming) sounds, wonder what they used. (I bet I have more annoying ones in my SFX library).

Oh well, what do you expect from pop science.

currently: the metallic "clink' sound my MGB makes sometimes when pulling away from rest. I've spent hours reconditioning the drive train... All to no avail, and it now feels as if the car is taunting me...

What's more annoying is the fact you stopped what you were doing, all to be asked if you've had your loft insulated this year, or if you or your family have been injured...arrrrrg!

My colleague dated a lady who worked for telemarketing. He said, "Sorry, I always hang up when hear you!", she answered, "Thank you, it is the best! The worst is when people start using me instead of a shrink complaining about their problems. I have no right to hang up first!" 🙂
