Well, I've taken the plunge and have started laying out parts for two pairs of mono Moskidos. Loved the idea of the Aikido driving a Class A solid state power amp. I have read through different posts on components choice, and have a pretty good idea of some recommended parts plus some I just like myself. Since I am building two pairs, I thought that I might make one pair according to Bob's original schematic (BUZ900/905s), and one pair using the IR MOSFETs (probably without the feedback circuit). I would almost rather go with both pairs of the tried and true BUZ900/905s, but the cheapest I can find them is about $20 per MOSFET, which actually isn't that bad (I've built many tube amps, and I easily spend more than this on output tubes/transformers). But the IR MOSFETs save considerable money, plus I will be able to give some feedback on how they both sound in comparison. How many people have built Moskidos thus far? I'll be trying some interesting components/layouts, I have some Russian teflon capacitors I'm itching to try, and a copper case that should look very nice with these amplifiers. Anyone have a good place to get big heat sinks? Big copper heat sinks would sure look nice....may have to fabricate some myself...🙂
BTW, props to Bob and John Broskie for all the design/work they've done, I'm pretty excited to get this going.

I'm making progress, just waiting on the heatsinks. Instead of going dual mono, I decided to go for a stereo setup. I have built the aluminum chassis with a copper face plate, once I get the heat sinks I'll be sure to post some pictures.
