Something I can't explain. A basic source follower in LTspice. When I put 10V at the gate, I expect something like 6-8V at the source, depending on the type of MOSFET.
Yet I see no Vs to speak off; tried several models from LTspice, same thing.
I feel I make a basic mistake here but have no idea.
Help?

The generic 'NMOS' FET seems to have a very high gate threshold voltage, at least 10V. I changed it to IRF530 and all seems fine.
(I'm not using your schematic mind, just set up a source follower on its own).

That's funny. I used several MOSFETs from the LTspice library and they all showed the very high Vgs.
I'll try a few others and verify with the '530.
Thanks.
Edit: yes, works with the '530 and a few others. I forgot which gave the funny behaviour, cannot remember right now.
Fixed.
