Short Version:
Hi there interested party's.. I want to make a compact, floor standing Big Vent Reflex with these parts ( a Morel Ziv Kit) AS IS.
I only have Mac computers in my life. So AJ Horn and Horn Response software etc. don’t run on my computers. It’s a one off, private build..If possible, drivers are suitable etc. I’m hoping someone can sketch a detailed design, for me to build. You can post it or PM me?
Long Version:
I’ve had the parts for Madisound’s Ziv Kit in storage for several years. Recently I got them out of the cupboard and hooked them up to my stout little KT 88 valve amp, just to see if these parts still work ok. Yep all is good. I was just listening to them in free air. They have a smooth, open, harmonically neutral - punchy, listen all day sound to them. They seemed to get along with the my valve amp very nicely. So I’d like to reprise this kit and give these drivers a permanent home, in a BVR 🙂 IMO - The carbon fibre drivers really need a sporty, nifty looking enclosure like a horn. Something that looks like it’s moving, though it’s standing still, kind of a design. Yes, I can do perfectly good BR box for them, but I really want to do something a bit more exciting, novel, aesthetically interesting. Maybe 5 degrees leaning back, some Pleather, walnut veneer, black form ply.
Something along the lines of these..see pics of the parts and a mood board. Big Vent Reflex - Singular big vent to the front, ( a kerfed curve is welcome) underneath a "large bookshelf" size enclosure. I need dimensions of box, volume, dimensions of vent, flare etc.
If there is a satisfactory result - I may offer a modest fee via PayPal for a detailed sketch (by hand is fine) with tables, graphs, simulations charts etc. that validate the design.
