I built mine in the larger case to make room for a 1/4 inch headphone jack in the front, and to move the power connection to the rear. I also added an audio input in the back so wires don't show. The box on the top is a SPDIF converter and DAC I built to match. I am using a DIR9001 and 4 x TDA1543's. I know my hearing is deficient, but it all sounds pretty good to me. I am willing to share construction details with anyone interested. Credit to Pavouk, Dave Kimber, and TNT audio for some of the idea's I incorporated.
I am presently building a SPDIF encoder for my Sony home theatre in a box, using a CS8406. Waiting on the last of the parts for my second attempt.
