moding P Daniel's NOS DAC?

From a discussion over at diyhifi.org, i was thinking about doing the following change to the Peter Daniel NOS DAC, in particular, adding an input transformer and balancing the signal.

What I plan to do is the right hand part of this schematic (right of 'cable'):

Really, I hardly have an idea what I'm doing, so if there is a disaster eminent, please warn me. Otherwise, I'm going to try it out.

NB - I have already built the left hand side of the above circuit, and it is a definite improvement over the stock SPDIF output in my Delta 1010lt..

What kind of transformer is that S22083?

I tried few transformer types (Scientific Conversion, PE6251, Schott and some custom made unit from China) but none of them sounded good enough.

The circuit also sounded better with SN75179 buffer.

If you experiment with transformers, you may remove the buffer.
