Hello All,
I am looking to purchase the Tripplite IS1800HGDV (dual voltage) isolation transformer for two purposes.
A – To convert voltage. I am going to be relocating and for my low powered components (pre-amp, phono amp) need to convert the voltage. The frequency is not an issue as my components can take both 50 and 60 Hz.
B – To help with cleaner power based on its isolation transformers.
Unfortunately, the unit comes with 8 C13 outlets (see pic). All my power cords are terminated in the standard NEMA 5-15-P plug (see pic). I would like to continue to use my current power cords as is – they are equipped with Furutech plugs.
One work around is through using the Audioquest "IEC>3 US Power Strip" (see pic). I would prefer not to use this as this would require multiple components plugged into one socket and/or using more than one of these will be quite unwieldy.
I would be grateful for help on the following:
1 - Guidance on how to go about converting the outlets to the standard NEMA 5-15-R or 5-20-R (see pic).
2 - Sources for good quality NEMA receptacles that would fit. I have tried looking at the usual high-end suspects (Audioquest, Furutech etc) but am not sure if they will fit.
Thanks in advance.
