Moderating

...it would be nice to know who best to make suggestions or complaints to. I suppose a list would work if the mod also listed their favourite categories. It's more about not having something go from one mod to another unless necessary, creating delays in response. I get the feeling that some mods do more of the website work as opposed to be actually moderating the discussions. It would be good to know who does that so any functional errors can be reported (and solved) quickly.

🙂ensen.

When in doubt, email me. Otherwise (as a general thing to all members) if there's a mod with whom you've got a good on-line relationship, feel free to use that route.

As far as administration, I handle policy issues and any complaints about moderation, and Audiofreak is the bright mind behind the operation of the forum. I'm late to this thread because I'm travelling right now (eating some vlaamse frites at the moment), sorry.

Perhaps I came across as a bit unclear which was not my intention.

First:
THIS is the Moderating thread so the thread starter is not involved in THIS discussion AFAIK but I might be wrong. Had I posted, especially the vague way I did, in the original thread then I could have understood your comment "Not very helpful".

Secondly:
I defended the quoted member not the statement itself as I had the impression of that user that he did not have any large commercial interest and thus should not have been accused of posting the statement for anyt other reason than to give advice and maintain a technical discussion. The reason for my view on his commercial interest is based on the fact that I have contacted him and basically got the answer "I really feel that it would expensive and complicated for you to buy from me but if you absolutely must then I can of course sell you a board"...

Personally I am very happy with the moderators and I am quite impressed by the way they take this huge task on the way they do. I, for sure, would not do half as good a job as any one of them not to mention that I would not find the time. Why some people are bashing these guys is way beyond my intelligence (which of course could be the actual problem in my case, but still).

Secondly:
What's wrong with post #4 in:
http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=46430
The user has been very reluctant and hard to talk into selling his PCBs as it seems to me. Any commercial interest in his mind for those PCBs seems to have been created by others not him.

I do admit lacking some characteristics:
1. I'm not paranoid
2. I don't fear Big Brother
3. I don't see a problem where there is none

Hey, see what they did?
Your link doesn't work anymore, as it doesn't work on my posts.
I think this was the intention of the mods.

Upupa's post landed on that thread as an UFO, it had nothing to do with the question.
Trying to sell or not, it's quite common attitude from him.
That member had a real problem with the amp he was trying to build.

Paranoid?
That's an easy excuse to finish a conversation, isn't it?
It seams that the "paranoid" members are the most honest around here.

You even cannot put Per-Anders on your ignore list as he is a moderator. Funny isn't it?:clown:

... but logical, of course. Ignoring the moderators obviously means the end of this forum as we know it, in all its imperfection.

BTW, how many of you who criticize the moderators have volunteered to take over and show us how it should be done? Just curious.

I speak for myself: I'm not criticizing all the moderators, I'm criticizing attitudes from some of them.
There are good moderators here (like Hugo), but quickly they make what they all decide.
So...:bawling:

If P-A is on all those forums trying to sell, why doesn't he really sell?
Maby people don't like his way of selling?
Maby people don't like his designs?
Why does he make pizza money?
Beats me...

But here he is a moderator, he has the power to delete/move a post he doesn't like.
A member with such commercial interests (and the proof is all over the world) should not be a moderator.
Peter Daniel left moderation when he got involved on some commercial projects, at least he had common sense.

Carlos,

I agree, not because I think P-A is misusing his position, I think he doesn't, but members with an ax to grind will always (mis)use such an argument.

Do you have any constructive comments to make at all?

I admit my postings are stamped by defeatism, but if you only would try, you should easily understand the reason.

There was a thread moved to off topic and closed, were i did try to explain my concerns in a more constructive way. There must be a reason why that thread was closed by a moderator: it became dangerous.

You can't be serious........

C'mon......how long do you think that they would let someone like me be in charge?

Nanoseconds, or picoseconds????

Was it off-topic, do you think? What was the thread title, what was the subject of your post?
