When do I get to vote for the janitor at my local McDonalds?

Mods have been Binned in the past. It's rare, not because it's a club, but because mods are generally chosen from the group of people who aren't troublemakers. That's not a sufficient critereon, but it's a necessary one.

Jam you have no shot at being a moderator. How many times have your posts ended up in Texas?:bawling: :bawling: :clown:

The mods, you are telling us that membership voting on moderator removal is out of the question even if we, the members, raise serious objections as to the conduct of any one of you. If that be the case, I'm afraid Jocko is right because I do not see why anyone in their right mind would continue donating their money to keep the forum alive, helping out other people, contributing their own projects etc. etc. if the only people around here (the mods) responsible for protecting the membership from being abused are the abusers themselves.

Regards,
Milan

P.S. When I go to my local McDonald's, it's not janitors who decide what's on the menu.

Does mod Per reigns the Europe region on this forum???

Do the other mods around here have something to add to Mod Per his answers on my questions in post 550??

----
I have the following questions :
- What is your standpoint on these conflicting moderator-roles?
- is it seen as a relevant thread for the survival of this forum (if not what are they)
- allong which lines should do you think the moderator role should be changed to prevent the recent 'sin-bin' rage?
---

The impression from the last posts aren't hopefull for those looking for more transparency in the role of moderation and their view on issues that are raised by the 'trouble makers' (0,1% of the members). It is their contribution that made this forum what it is and I find it incomprehensible that they are more or less neglected in their fight against the non-quality and comercialism that threads the quality of this forum. Mods seem to IMO to to sinbin those rebels, instead to stick out there neck for them.

I can come to the conclusion that the mod-Per and SY (as I haven't heard the others) have other interests.

Regards Henk

C'mon guys, get some perspective on things, will ya'?

If sin binning three members and banning one is a "sin bin rage", then I say let there be rage! If the quality of posts is dropping it isn't because of commercial interest from moderators, it is mainly because there are just too many members with destructive tendencies.

This is a discussion forum about DIY audio, as the name implies. Like it or not, it's operated by one person and moderated by a team by virtue of their willingness to help keep the forums reasonably polite and safe.

You take it or leave it. Unlike the serious business of being a member of society as a whole, you can vote with your feet (or maybe that is fingers in this context) by simply not reading or writing posts. It's that simple. Anyone who disagrees with how this place is run should start his/her own, rather than badgering the mods here.

A place like this is based on respect and trust. Without both of these you run the risk of being thrown out. I sometimes wish the mods were a bit less forgiving, but I suspect this - in part - depends our willingness to report posts when we find then offensive.

Maybe the mods could set up a private forum where the main offenders (you know who you are) can abuse each other to their hearts content if that would make them stop doing so in their public posts.

We sinbin reels which can't behave and we would never stick out our necks for them. We stick out for those who behave themselves.

I don't rule the Europe area alone which you ought to know by now and we are a couple from Europe.

We could be a lot harder and you all know it... but we don't want to be hard. We want that everybody, teenager or adult to enjoy this forum which is the best in the world and I'm not kidding.

We get very few posts reported, one now and then.

I say it again: Perspective!

Hi,

(Dinner tonight at Les Grenadiers in Bordeaux on someone else's dime- life ain't bad)

Guess that's a little better than both McDonalds and the French fries from the other night in B...

Hey...Come to think of it....You must be having dinner with the headhonchos at Jadis' you've been complaining so much about lately, right? :devilr:

Should you have some spare time on your hands, there are some good audio saloons in the neighbourhood, could have a listen to Audiomat for instance........

P.S. When I go to my local McDonald's, it's not janitors who decide what's on the menu.

If I'd go to my local McDonalds, I won't care who puts what on the menu.........:whazzat:

Cheers,😉

GREAT post Rune...that about sums it up for me as far as I am concerned.

I mean ...what is all the fuzz about? Apparently it is about a well respected member Pedja...who posted some datasheet example of a regulator. Someone made a board for that... Pedja gets upset. Seriously what do you want the mods to do...??? Ban the guy who made boards? He is not breaking any forum rules. So you want to have new rules or guidelines? Well then suggest new rules or guidelines...

Jocko,

They still don't get it..............................🙄 ..........probably never will. They all seem to miss the big picture and worry about petty issues.

Have you noticed that some of the respected designers, that used to post here regularly have been scarce lately or have stopped posting at all.........wonder why?

If you think that is what all of this is about, then you have missed the point.
My post was just to test the water a little. You've just proven me right...endless bickering without even wanting to state anything. That way you can continue an endless and especially useless discussion. What have you, Jam and Brett just substantially added...nothing!

You have all just tried to make very vague blanket statements....basically because you have no valid arguments or don't articulate those arguments well enough.

I'll try to speak in the type of language you used Jocko.

Hint : It's not the criticism that is the problem....

Ah forget about it..I won't drop hints...I'll tell you what I think...
It's the shifting goalposts.....and the fact that certain individuals will NEVER be happy with the moderation...(because in the end we all have a different view on things) and argue for arguments sake.
