I just picked one up off of Ebay (Adcom 545 II). Unfortunately right channel is somewhat not working. Meaning, if I crank up the volume, I hear "pops" of sound. I only did that 1 or 2 x.
Anyway since it needs to be opened up and worked on I'm wondering if there are any mods that could be done to benefit the sound quality of the unit.
Looking around on the net, I've seen some people suggest changing the fuse holder and the power switch. Those are ideas. More concern to me though is some of the reviews I read on it , with statements like, "foward sounding" and treblely (weak bass). I'm not sure if this is true or not since I've yet to listen. If it is true I'm wondering if there are any mods to help this situation and if it's not true wondering what mods can improve the unit anyway .
Thank you,
StuartAmbient
